The problem is to understand what you really want. Taking advantage of this allows a logical ordering, making it possible for students to approach most new characters with prior knowledge that can greatly facilitate the learning process. Some hints for learning new characters: Because primitive frames in the book are not numbered, the "Heisig Number" for primitives is of the form v1p, which is interpreted as volume book 1, page Information on the card helps you easily look the character up in the books. These images were created from the SimSun font on a Windows computer, and depending on your display, operating system, available fonts, etc.

The image of logic we are given is something like a central jewel in a computer, like the jewels in old clocks that keep them running smoothly. In this way, the collections of dots, strokes and components that make up the characters are associated in memorable ways, dramatically shortening the time required for learning and helping prevent characters from slipping out of memory. Many, if not most, learners will find this preferable. We leave it to you to decide which one has the better luck in his quest.

For ease of use and learning, I then created an Anki deck that includes all of this information. Instead, we see brightly colored flowers placed before the tombstones, the sun shining gloriously overhead, and a cuddly St. That means if you don't know any characters or primitives at all, and you randomly pick a Heisig character to learn, on average you'd have to learn 5 other characters or primitives first in order to learn how to write the character. If you find any errors, please let me know. Select all of the results from the search, and un-suspend them make them active for learning and review. When this deck is imported into the desktop program, cards will appear as the deck author has made them.

Rather than suspending and unsuspending cards, as suggested by the author, I prefer to hive cards off into filtered decks. Exit the browser, and start learning the characters using Anki. A unique property of this deck is that it also allows you to learn Heisig's characters "out of sequence" while still using Heisig's general method. This is accomplished through creation of a "story" that engagingly ties the primitive elements and key word together.

You use these keywords to create memorable stories, which remind you how to combine previously learned characters and primitives to write and recognize the new character you are learning.

The problem is to understand what you really want. Updates on DEC Added primitive images to shared deck. The method is secondary, though some methods may be more efficient than others. The character numbering is from the edition of the books that I own, I've heard that the numbering has changed slightly between editions, so be aware And then you start to blame Heisig and give up with mnemonics, stories and maybe even characters whatsoever.

Description This deck is designed to accompany Remembering Simplified Hanzi 1 and book 2and you will need those books in order to use this deck. The lessons of Book 2 have been arranged in such a way that they may be studied either after those of Book 1 or simultaneously with them.

I haven't tested or extensively used the deck at this time, but I've already found and corrected several errors. This is because once a primitive is introduced, it is usually used in multiple new characters immediately, so you generally wouldn't have any problems remembering it.

There is no attention given to the readings of the kanji as Heisig believes that one should learn the writing and meaning first before moving on to the readings in Volume II.

You can copy-and-paste the character if you already have it in electronic form, or look it up in the indices in the back of the Heisig books, and then find it by keyword.
